University Zone Library of Ningbo sticks to this principle: To consider reader¡¯s needs first, to provide collections for readers as complete as possible. It focuses on technicality and speciality, works for the public, and gathers documents about Ningbo Industry and College Majors in University Zone largely. The documents in library include books, periodicals and newspapers. The library has reached about 250,000 volumes of books, 3,000 volumes of periodicals, 13,000 volumes of archival periodicals, 160 volumes of newspapers. The collection capacity has reached 200,000 items, 250,000 volumes. The books in library have no duplicates, so it increases the item of books and satisfies reader¡¯s demands with all kinds of books under the limited books¡¯ funds. The books can be divided into foreign books, science books, social science books, literature and art, children¡¯s books, literature on Ningbo, Braille publication, Huabao ancient rare books and secondhand books (belong to Yinzhou Library) according to the different places for collection. What to mention is the Huabao ancient rare books in library, which has reached 2,600 volumes and cost 300,000 yuan. The books are rich bound and have an old-fashioned and antique flavor. And the Braille publication in library is the only Braille library in Ningbo and Zhejiang.
